In this new rubric at ESC Daily, we will take a look at next years Eurovision Song Contest. What can we expect from each participating country? In today’s preview we will feature the plans in Poland.
What do we know so far
TVP, the Polish national broadcaster, has revealed on the 10th of October that they will select Polish representative and song internally by experts as they did it last year. The success formula that led to a place in the final will therefore be continued. The act for Vienna will be announced at least in the end of March 2015.
Polish representative seems to be quite difficult to predict. Polish portal eska.pl conducted a survey in which they ask – who should represent Poland during Eurovision 2015? The majority of readers chose the Polish-Ukrainian band “Enej”, the second place took the singer Margaret and the last place on the podium was given to the band “LemON”. Among rumors we can also hear names like: Sylwia Grzeszczak, Edyta Górniak (ESC 1994), Monika Brodka or Dawid Podsiadło.
Chances at Eurovision
Unfortunately Poland up to now did not have many successes on its account. The best place which Poland achieved was the second place in 1994 by the Polish singer Edyta Górniak. However last year after a 2-year absence the Polish duo Donatan & Cleo achieved a 14th place in the grand final. This renowned return to ESC might be a positive impulse from TVP for the future. It certainly helped among rumors suggesting that many popular artists in Poland asked national broadcaster about participation in ESC 2015.
