Romania will pick their act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in the style of the Swedish preselection show format Melodifestivalen. There will be five qualification shows and one grand final. Each show will be hosted in a different city in Romania.
At the end of the six weeks with shows, a winner will be crowned and gets the chance to fly the Romanian flag to Lisbon. Romania has not used this format before. It is not known yet if the fifth show will be a repechage round (like Andra Chansen) or just another regular semi final.
Applications in November
In November broadcaster TVR will open the applications for the contest. And late December they will announce which artists have made the cut to the live shows. More information will likely be available in due time.
