Slovakia: RTVS has decided to stay

Good news for all fans of the Eurovision came today, as the management of newly created RTVS (Slovak TV and radio) confirmed its participation in the 56th Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, so we will see a total of 43 countries.

Slovak television has undergone a reorganization at the beginning of the year. The newly-formed RTVS’ Miloslava Zemkova has taken over the power of STV and therefore confirmed that Slovakia is willing to participate in Eurovision, despite the low financial resources.

Slovaks were previously included in the list of the participants released by EBU on December 31st, however, STV was the only broadcaster to have the deadline extended due to major changes in the company and doubts about the budget for 2011.
