Russia 2018 – Yulia Samoylova – I Won’t Break

Yulia Samoylova was born on 7th April 1989 in Ukhta, Russia. The singer started her career when she would perform for oil workers at a restaurant in her hometown. From 2008 to 2010 she performed as part of TerraNova, a heavy alternative band, and then went on to take part in Faktor A, the Russian version of The X Factor. In 2014 she performed as an opening act at the Winter Paralympics in Sochi.

Russia had originally chosen Yulia to represent the country at the 2017 contest, but they withdrew a month before the contest took place in Kyiv. The Russian broadcaster had instead promised that Yulia would have a chance in 2018, and they stuck to their word.

Russia takes part in the first half of the first semi final on the 8th of May 2018.
