Russia sends punk-pop-rave band Little Big to Rotterdam

Public broadcaster C1R has selected the punk-pop-rave band Little Big to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam. Little Big will perform in the first half of the first Semi-Final on the 12th of May.

The group’s participating song will be announced soon, since the Monday 9 March deadline for submissions is just 1 week away.

Little Big comes from St. Petersburg and consists of members Ilya Prusikin, Sonya Tayurskaya, Anton Lissov and Sergey Makarov. The group represents a scalding cocktail of absurdity combined with powerful punk-pop-rave music and is currently ruling Russian and European dance floors.

Little Big is known for viral songs like Skibidi. The single became an instant worldwide sensation gaining 23 million views on YouTube in just 1 week. The video has reached more than 360 million views at the time of writing. The dance from the video is now the most popular meme in Russia, practised by famous Russian TV stars as well as popular rappers.

The Little Big phenomenon continued to grow after releasing I’m OK, which became one of the most popular TikTok memes globally.
