San Marino broadcaster SMRTV has this morning confirmed to escdaily.com that they are on the provisional list of applicants for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Belgrade Head of Delegation Alessandro Capicchioni said that whilst they have “submitted, nothing is fixed still”.
San Marino join Hungary and Montenegro as those countries who have declared that, although they have applied to take part, participation is by no means confirmed. Any country can withdraw from the list up until December 20 without an EBU penalty.
San Marino took part for the first, and to date only, time in Eurovision in 2008, where Miodio failed to qualify for the final.
