The online voting via the Eurovision app has immediately begun. Voting is open to all, however only votes from users within the Czech Republic will count. The results of this online vote are combined with an international jury vote on a 50/50% basis. Their scoring is due to be revealed two weeks later, on Monday the 22nd of January. Then finally a week after that, on Monday the 29th of January 29, the total results will be compiled and the winner will be announced.
Only one Eurovision final in Czech history
In 2016, Gabriela Gunčíková became the first (and to date) only Czech Republic entrant to reach the final, finishing 25th with the song “I Stand”. In the four attempts before that historical result, the Czechs did not manage to reach the final.
Last year in Kiev, Martina Bárta took part with the song ‘My Turn’. She finished in 13th place in the semi final and failed to qualify for the final.
