Slovenian National Broadcaster RTVSLO has received 52 songs for this year’s Evrovizijska Melodija (EMA). Unlike the past years, EMA 2012 will have only two artists competing to each other, Eva Boto and Eva&Nika Prusnik. After a six week show, Misija Evrovizija chose two participants to take part in this year’s EMA. After an open call for songs, RTVSLO received over 50 songs, mostly from Slovenia while one third of the songs came from around Europe (Denmark, Sweden, Croatia, Iceland and Malta).

The jury commission consists Darja Švajger (teacher of solo singing, two time Slovenian representative at Eurovision), Mojca Menart (head of the Publishing House of RTVSLO) and Aleksander Radić (head of Slovenian delegation for Eurovision), they will choose three songs  for the girls. The song titles and the names of the authors will be known on February 16th. Songs will be premiered for the first time during a radio show on Val 202 on February 17th. While EMA 2012 will take place on February 26th.
