After achieving 4th place in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, DR confirms Denmark’s participation in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest by kicking off the next edition of Dansk Melodi Grand Prix.
The submission opened just over a week ago and the same rules apply for 2011: foreign composers are allowed but singers should be either Danish, have Danish citizenship or have strong correspondence or relations with Denmark. Six songs will be selected by a appointed committee and four will be added as wildcards.
DR will also have a say on the performer of the song while language is not restricted. Submissions due on September 27.
