Stockholm 2016: EBU confirms 41 countries so far

The European Broadcasting Union has revealed that – so far – 41 countries have applied to take part in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. Which countries are amongst those 41 nations, has not been announced however.

The number ’41’ was mentioned first in a speech by Jon Ola Sand at an EU convention in Glasgow on monday. Later that night, the EBU released the following tweet, suggesting the full participation list will soon be revealed:

Until that moment, speculations will continue about who is in and who is not.

This is the list of countries that have confirmed preliminary or definite participation in the contest so far. Russia and Serbia are likely to join this list, but have not released any official statement yet.
