Sweden: Less entries for Melodifestivalen 2015

Today the deadline for submitting entries for Melodifestivalen ended. The Swedish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 should do with a total of 2,177 entries.

“We are searching for sing-along songs that stick in depth. We are looking for quality and not quantity”, the chairman of the Melodifestivalen, Christer Björkman, earlier stated to Swedens national broadcaster; SVT. Donald Johansson (winner of Svensktopppen nästa 2014) is announced as one of the participants.

A special panel will now select 28 entries to take part in the televised shows from February to March. The entries that made it to the semi finals will be announced later in the autumn.
