Sweden: Final takes place on March 12th

The Melodifestivalen final will take place in the Friends Arena on March 12th 2016. SVT has announced these dates one day before the deadline for song submitting.

These are the dates & locations of the Melodifestivalen shows:

February 6th: Göteborg SF1
February 13th: Malmö SF2
February 20th: Norrkoping SF3
February 27th: Gavle SF4
March 5th: Halmstad Andra Chansen
March 12th: Stockholm FINAL (Friends Arena)

Halmstad makes its debut as a host city in Melodifestivalen.

It has already been announced that Smajling will be one of the acts in the semi-finals in Sweden. Altogether, 28 acts will take part in Melodifestivalen next year. Fourteen performers will come from a national submission of contributions, and possibly also from the public contest. Thirteen acts will be selected by broadcaster SVT and one contribution will the public’s joker in the competition.

The winner of Melodifestivalen 2016 will represent the host nation Sweden in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 14th, in Stockholm.
