Sweden: Krista Siegfrids eliminated again

For the second year in a row, Krista Siegfrids has been eliminated from the semifinals of Melodifestivalen. Siegfrids’ “Snurra min jord” finished in 7th and last place in the heat tonight.

The Finnish singer, who previously represented her country in Malmö in 2013, has had no luck on the Swedish Melfest stage. Last year, she also did not come past the first stage of the competition.

The Swedish broadcaster SVT tonight announced that they registered the amazing number of 5.7 million (!) votes.

Oldest competitor

Robin Bengtsson has had the opposite luck as he goes on to the final for the second year in a row with his song “I Can’t Go On”. Surprisingly, the second song in the final is “Boogieman Blues” by Owe Thörnqvist. The 87 year old is the oldest competitor in Melfest history.

Anton Hagman will be heading to Andra Chansen alongside Felix, Oscar & Omar/FO&O. Andra Chansen will be held on 4 March while the final will be on 11 March in Friends Arena in Stockholm.
