Sweden: Robin Bengtsson wins Melodifestivalen and goes to Kiev

Robin Bengtsson narrowly beat out Nano in tonight’s Melodifestivalen final to represent Sweden in Kiev. Bengtsson’s song “I Can’t Go On” was a hit with the international juries winning 96 points from them.

In total, Bengtsson won Melodifestivalen with 146 points from both international juries and televotes. After his big win, Bengtsson said. “Wow! I have never been so excited in my whole life. I thought Nano would take it home.”

Nano did come close as he won the public votes with 57 points. However Bengtsson’s strong lead from the international juries helped secure his win.

Rounding out the top three in third place was Jon Henrik Fjällgren feat. Aninia with their Swedish and Sami song En värld full av strider. They won 105 total points. Fan favorite Wiktoria ended up in sixth place as her song failed to resonate with both the juries and public.
