The final field for Vidbir 2019, the national selection for Ukraine at Eurovision 2019, has been announced. Tayanna, who took part in the last two years as well, and both times came runner up, is among the 16 acts.
The final will take place in the usual format, with the same filming location and with the same presenting team and judging panel, despite recent budgeting issues.
Here are the 16 artists that take part in Vidbir 2019:
Tayanna is not the only returning act to the Ukrainian national selection show. Brunettes Shot Blondes have also participated. Their previous attempt in 2016 was called ‘Every Monday’, and they places 6th out of 6 in the Grand Final. Kazka attempted more recently in 2018. Their song was called Dyva, and they placed 6th in the first semi-final, so therefore didn’t qualify. Laud also competed in 2018. The entry from Laud was called ‘Waiting’ and it placed 4th in the national final show.
The 2018 final was marred in controversy. Andriy Danilko, who is more commonly known among Eurovision fans as Verka Serduchka, accused one of the participants, the eventual runner up, Tayanna of lip syncing to her song. Her manager got up and was very angry about the accusations that Andriy Danilko had made.
