Zdob şi Zdub is back to represent Moldova, this time alongside Fraţii Advahov. The collaborative group impressed the panel at the auditions in Moldova and won the ticket to Turin.
The group will perform Trenuleţul (Train) at Eurovision this year. The song was one of 28 in the running to represent the nation. Originally, the broadcaster planned a national selection, however due to the submitted entries, ultimately decided to select their act directly from the auditions.
The expert panel consisted of:
- Aliona Moon (Eurovision 2013)
- Cristina Scarlat (Eurovision 2014)
- Geta Burlacu (Eurovision 2008)
- Vali Boghean (singer-songwriter)
- Victoria Cuşnir (Journalist)
Fans of Eurovision will know that this is the third occasion that Zdob şi Zdub has represented Moldova at Eurovision. They first appeared in 2005 with the track Boonika Bate Doba, which finished in 6th place. They returned in 2011 with the song So Lucky, which ultimately finished in 12th place.
