Tonight, Germany will choose it’s entrant for Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. After the great success of  “Unser Star für Oslo” in 2010, German biggest broadcasters Pro Sieben and ARD, decided to renew the show for the 2012 edition of the show. Tonight, the final of this year’s show will be held, and the winner will represent Germany for the fifty-sixth time in Eurovision. The show will be hosted by Sandra Rieß and Steven Gätjen with a judging panel composed of Thomas D, Alina Süggeler and Stefan Raab. After a long show on Monday evening on Pro7, Roman Lob and Ornella de Santis were chosen by the public to go through to the final.

The show tonight will be different to the others – both Roman and Ornella will sing three original songs, proposed to them from different record companies. In an interview on Eurovision.de, head of jury Thomas D revealed that songs have been written for the final by Belgian singer Millow and British pop/jazz singer Jamie Cullum, amongst others.

Tonight, after both candidates have performed their three songs, the public will decide one song for Ornella and Roman to sing at Eurovision – which they will both sing in the second round of the show. Then, the winner of the second round will represent Germany in Eurovision Song Contest 2012.

The final will be broadcasted on German channel “Das Erste” from 20.15 CET. You can follow the show over the internet here.
