Polish broadcaster TVP has selected the group Tulia for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. Tulia consist of four singers Patrycja Nowicka, Dominika Siepka, Joanna Sinkiewicz and Tulia Biczak.
The band combine a characteristic style of singing with modern music production. Tulia will perform in the first half of the first Semi-Final on the 14th of May. TVP will announce their participating song at a later date.
Tulia are four singers who combine their classic white voice (a traditional Eastern European style of singing) folk music with the most modern music production. Within a year from its creation in early 2018, Tulia achieved more than many established artists could wish for.
Opole music festival
The group performed on FRYDERYKI 2018 gala (the Polish equivalent of Grammy or BRIT Awards) with Natalia Nykiel and Pianohooligan – it was one of the evening’s most praised performances. The singers won all three awards during the oldest and most important Polish Song Festival in Opole. They also appeared on numerous summer festivals, and played the first – and what is more important – sold out tour. Last but not least, Tulia received a platinum award for their debut album released late May 2018.
