United Kingdom: Final on January 27th, songs out on the 23rd

The BBC will once again broadcast the show You Decide. The show will be used as the format to select the song that will represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. The final takes place on January the 27th and the songs come out on the 23rd of January.

Self-confessed Eurovision superfan, Mel Giedroyc, returns as presenter. The six competing songs will be revealed on Monday 23rd January. Fans can follow the reveal on The Ken Bruce Show on BBC Radio 2 and on the official BBC Eurovision site.

At the final show, a panel of three experts will be on hand to provide insight and their thoughts about the songs and the artists. Furthermore, the experts judge how they could translate the performance to the Eurovision Final in Ukraine.

UPDATE 16-12 Ken Bruce confirmed on his show this morning, that the 2009 winner, Alexander Rybak will be performing as a special guest.

Joe & Jake

Last year, the United Kingdom used “You Decide” for the first time as its national final for Eurovision. Joe & Jake won the show and as a result represented their country in Stockholm. With their song “You’re not alone” they finished in 24th place with 62 points.
