Val wins Eurofest in Belarus with ‘Da Vidna’

Val performs the reprise of Da Vidna after winning Eurofest

Val has won Eurofest and therefore will represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The winning song in Minsk is called ‘Da Vidna’.

The national final in Belarus consisted of twelve competing acts. The winner was determined by a 50/50 combination of votes from a professional jury and a public telephone vote.

After the jury votes were counted, Yan Yarosh was the frontrunner in Belarus with his ballad ‘Fire’. However, the televote only gave him 6 points, which opened the way for jury runner-up Val to take the lead with another 10 points from the televote. The group CHАKRАS and their ethnic song “La-ley-la” received the 12 points from the televote, but only got 6 points from the jury.
