Vienna 2015: “Same stage designer as in 2011 and 2012”

Broadcaster ORF has informed the Austrian newspaper Kurier that stage designer Florian Wieder will create the stage for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna. The experienced German has done so before in the past, creating the stages for the contests in Düsseldorf and Baku in 2011 and 2012.

The 46-year old Wieder has also been responsible for staging X-Factor in the UK and America’s Got Talent, as well as several popular German tv-shows, like the German preselection ‘Deutschland sucht den Superstar’. The tagline “Building Bridges” will play a big part in the contest’s overall look, and it will have a big influence on the way the stage will look.

ORF’s TV Director, Kathrin Zechner, has said that “the stage represents the bridge from the past to the present”. When the first pictures of the stage design for next year are available, you can find them here at ESC Daily.
