Every night around 23:00 CET, we summarize the events that occurred in Lisbon. On the fourth day in Portugal, Benjamin Ingrosso took the stage for the first time on behalf of Sweden.
In What Happened Today we close off the day with an overview of the most important facts and videos. Have you been working all day? Or you did not have time to follow the rehearsals? Everything you may have missed – you can catch up every night in this article.
Benjamin Ingrosso does most of the work
Sweden is as prepared as ever. Compared to other countries, they take more time to look back at the camera shots of the performance, to make sure that they get the best possible coverage of their song. The whole performance is mostly aimed at antertaining the viewer at home. The only big change to Melodifestivalen are the vocals, which are being done more by Benjamin himself.
AWS rock the stage in Lisbon
The Hungarian rock song was one of the most impressive rehearsals of the day. In the fan-community there never was much love for the entry, but almost no one can ignore an almost certain spot in the final for AWS after today:
Melovin rising from the dead
Ukraine also has some remarkable staging this year. MELOVIN starts the song laying on a piano, with foldable arms over him, as if he is laying in a coffin. He gets up, sings part of the song behind a standng microphone and then gets behind his piano. The stairs then catch fire.
CT scan shows Mikolas Josef’s back is okay
The condition of Mikolas Josefs back is improving. Czech Republic’s official Eurovision channel released this news moments ago. They have not cancelled their rehearsal for tomorrow just yet.
According to the CT scans, the plates are not broken. This means that the doctors have given Mikolas a clearance to perform next week. He is currently still under a lot of painkillers, but the Czech delegation assumes that he will be able to rehearse tomorrow.
