“Barzilai and Rybak have the best stories this Eurovision”

The last couple of years the Eurovision Song Contest was won by artists with a clear story. Conchita in 2014, Mans in 2015, Jamala in 2016 and Salvador in 2017 did it. So who has the best story this year? In our talkshow The ESCDaily Show, gambler Daniel Gould says that Israel and Rybak are on top of that list.

Bad rehearsal for vocally instable Jessica Mauboy

It hurts to say it, but our own Jessica Mauboy did not deliver today. Her vocals were off-key a few times and especially the long note near the end failed every runthrough. Even though ‘We got love’ might be a jury-friendly song, this really has to improve before next week. Otherwise Australia could be in big trouble for the first time.

Stagediving for Hungary now much better

It took the guys from AWS a couple of attempts, but they finally managed to get their stage-diving act captured on camera the way they want. We could say, it was a succesful day for Hungary.

Benjamin Ingrosso: “I cried the first time I listened back”

Sweden’s Eurovision hopeful Benjamin told the press that he wrote his song just over a year ago, as he was getting over a big heartbreak: “I wrote Dance You Off in just two hours — even the production, everything. I cried the first time I listened back to it. It felt so cool that you could get your feelings out in a song in two hours.” He added: “And now I am together with a girl, so it ended pretty good. But I still remember how I felt when I wrote it.”

Melovin explains his act with the coffin

The prop in the Ukrainian performance is not a coffin, but a piano. Singer Mélovin said this at his press conference. During the rehearsal, we could see Mélovin step out of the prop as if he rises from the dead.
