What happened today in Rotterdam: Day Five

Every evening, we summarize the events that occurred in Rotterdam. On Day five of rehearsals almost all nations competing in the first semi final of Eurovision 2021 came back to Ahoy.

Fifteen nations return for their second rehearsal

Apart from Malta, all the countries in the first semi final got back to Rotterdam Ahoy for their second rehearsal. Some of them made some small adjustments, like Lesley Roy from Ireland who has finetuned here impressive visual act even more. Lead singer of Go_A skipped second rehearsal

Also Ukraine had their second rehearsal, but without lead singer Katerina Pavlenko. She felt sick and stayed in her hotel today. This is part of the strict COVID-regulations in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. A stand-in singer performed on her behalf in the rehearsal this afternoon. Pavlenko has not tested positive for coronavirus but will likely undergo another test later today.

Making a living out of Eurovision

ESCDaily spent some time with professional Eurovision trader Rob Furber. Furber makes his money off Eurovision betting. The Eurovision season lasts 5 months. During that time, Furber follows all the news. “I have to stay on top of everything, day and night.”
