What happened today in Rotterdam: Day Seven

Every evening, we look back at the events that occurred in Rotterdam. We have had seven days packed with rehearsals and all semi finalists are done for their big moments in the upcoming week.

In What Happened Today we close off the day with an overview of the most important facts and videos. Have you been working all day? Or you did not have time to follow the rehearsals? Everything you may have missed – you can catch up every night in this article.

Switzerland improves its complex lighting

Switzerland has one of the more ambitious performances for this year. Improvements have been made with the inclusion of dry ice (smoke) during the bridge scene. Contrasted lighting has been enhanced further adding to the artistic nature of this entry, however, there is still a small disconnect from the manic choreography and facial expressions from Gjon’s Tears and the track itself. Overall its making strides and can’t be ruled out for victory just yet.

Bulgaria’s Victoria connects to the camera way more

Victoria continues to wow us, with one of the more impressive stagings for this year’s contest. The symbolism of the pouring sands and the photo of her parents adds an extra layer of authenticity through the song. Previously our critique for this performance was that Victoria looked sleepy in her first rehearsals. Victoria opened her eyes more and fully committed to the performance which makes this a potential winner in our books.

Bookmakers say it will be three horse race

With all countries having at least one rehearsal, the bookmakers try to make up their minds. When it comes to the winning market, they think it will be a three horse race between France, Italy and Malta. Check out the Top-15 of the bookies below:
