Destiny Chukunyere takes part in Maltese second season of X-Factor

Broadcaster TVM has announced, that for the second season, X-factor Malta will be the selection method to select the Maltese Eurovision entry for The Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. Former Junior Eurovision winner Destiny Chukunyere is one of the participants.

The last edition of X-factor Malta was a first for the small Mediterranean island. Head judge Howard Keith Debono takes the reigns for season 2, along with Ira Losco, Alexandra Alden and Ray Mercieca who were all judges in the first season. Howard was the winning coach in season 1, as he mentored Michela Pace to victory, and onto Tel Aviv where she qualified for the Grand Final and ultimately ended up in 14th place out of the 26 grand final entries, with a total of 107 points. Ben Camille has also returned as the presenter for season 2.

Destiny won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria with her song ‘Not My Soul’. On her Instagram account, she announced she takes part in X Factor Malta. She hopes to represent her country at the big Eurovision Song Contest as well. Last year in Tel Aviv, she was a backing singer (off stage) for Michela.
